The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the most recognised learn to dive scuba certification and is the first step to a lifetime of adventure. Completing a PADI Course in Brighton qualifies you to dive worldwide to a maximum depth of 18 metres with a buddy. The PADI Open Water Diver course is performance based which means we progress at your pace, ensuring you understand everything and are as comfortable as possible. The two components of the PADI course in Brighton are Pool/Theory (referral) Training and Open Water Qualifying Dives.
Pool/Theory
This is where you learn and practice scuba diving skills in Confined Water pools and confirm that you understand the PADI Open Water Diver study material we send you before the course. The Pool and Theory are known as the PADI Open Water Referral Course and can be completed in a number of ways.
Please note that our 1 day courses are intensive and for water confident people, if you are unsure then call us to discuss prior to booking.
Open water Qualifying Dives
The Open water Qualifying Dives are completed in the Sea or in a Local Quarry. This part is the practical test to see how much you have learned during the Confined Water Sessions and to make sure you are confident and comfortable enough in your new underwater environment.
The Open Water Referral Course
The PADI Open Water Referral course is designed for students holidaying abroad, and covers the pool and theory elements of the full PADI Open Water Course.
Having completed the Open Water Referral course, you can than complete the four qualifying dives at a suitable PADI Dive Centre abroad or in the UK.
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification.
The exciting referral course leads on to the full Open Water course when completed and is a qualification for life to a depth of 18 metres and is recognised all over the world. As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, you'll have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional.
You must complete the dives within 12 months. If you are unable to complete when away, please contact us upon your return.
